Here are 7 reasons to join our family in Hamilton
1. We have an award-winning workplace
Stryker has been consistently recognized as a great place to work in Canada! Our recent awards include:
Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2021)
Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers (2021)
Canada’s Top Family-Friendly Employers (2021)

2. Great parental leave and a subsidy for IVF
Stryker supports parents-to-be with a subsidy for IVF if needed (to $15,000) and provides generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments to new mothers and fathers, including adoptive parents (to 100% of salary for 26 weeks).
3. Healthy living subsidy
Our employees receive a separate healthy living subsidy of $100 for fitness-related expenses, such as gym membership or signing up for recreational sports.
4. On-site fitness center and locker rooms
Our on-site fitness center is approximately 1,000 square feet, with separate shower and locker areas. Includes three treadmills, two spin bikes, two elliptical machines, one rowing machine, one power cage, three bench presses, free weights up to 100 pounds, a cable system, and medicine balls. Having a fitness center on-site means that our employees can save money on gym memberships and also the time that would potentially be involved in traveling to and from an offsite gym.
5. We celebrate successes
Along with a number of performance recognition initiatives, the company's Stryker Achievement Award is presented to two employees each quarter and features a $500 prize, lunch with the President, a preferred parking spot, as well as an extra paid vacation day. We also have a sales awards program with monetary prizes, and Stryker Business Operations Awards, which is an annual awards gala with monetary prizes as high as $5,000 for internal employees.
6. Paid volunteer time
Our employees receive 8 hours each year to use to volunteer and give back to the community. Some of the community organizations that are supported include Bruce House, Canadian Blood Services, Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation, Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice Foundation, Food for Life, St. John Ambulance, The Willow Foundation, Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, and Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
7. Social events and activities
We always have a reason to celebrate – including an annual Halloween dress-up contest, an annual holiday dinner and dance, employee appreciation week, children's Christmas party, company summer barbecue, and softball tournament, and annual company golf tournament.
Way back in the day (about 41 million years ago), the top of Hamilton Mountain was actually the bottom of a tropical sea.
