1. Our people and culture

People are at the heart of what we do. Our team across Mexico shape our culture by creating a sense of community at work. At Stryker, you’ll find a culture rooted in collaboration and innovation. Our shared mission and values of people, performance, integrity and accountability help generate successful results and an engaged work environment.

Our best-in-class workplace practices in Mexico City include:

  • Annual employee engagement survey: This virtual questionnaire is administered by an external vendor to check in with our employees once a year on their level of job satisfaction and engagement.

  • Local normativity NOM-035 compliant: Our commitment to this local certification mitigates psychosocial risk factors at work through identification, analysis and prevention.

  • Open-door policy: We practice an open-door policy to encourage open communication and discussion about feedback an employee may have.

  • Ethics hotline: We are committed to ensuring our employees are comfortable at work. Our company-wide ethics hotline protects the flourishing positive culture we have built at Stryker.

2. Employee engagement events

Stryker in Mexico has an employee engagement committee that plans activities throughout the year for employees to enjoy! Whether it’s a celebration for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, or a trivia event, we make time for employees to connect with one another. By hosting office-wide employee engagement events we encourage our employees to build connections beyond their immediate teams.

3. Employee resource group

Being your full self at work is easier with employee resource groups (ERGs) dedicated to fostering authenticity at work. By participating in our ERGs you can connect with people who have similar interests and backgrounds. Company-wide, we have nine ERGs that welcome remote participation. Our office in Mexico City has an active Stryker Women’s Network (SWN) chapter dedicated to advancing women together.

4. Recognition program

We appreciate our passionate employees who are driven to make healthcare better – and love to show it! Stryker in Mexico recognizes employees through Employee of the Month awards, Length of Service Recognition, and Line of the Month recognition. Through these structured recognition programs, Stryker in Mexico fosters a community of appreciation and gratitude.

5. Employee wellness program

We prioritize our employee’s health and well-being. Therefore, we offer wellness opportunities to encourage our employees to live their best lives. Our employee wellness programs at Stryker in Mexico include:

6. Professional development opportunities

At Stryker, we grow talent! Once you’re here, we don’t want you to leave, we’d rather you grow and develop your career with us. We encourage the development of motivated employees through various developmental resources that include:

  • Individual development plan (IDP): This customizable plan is a part of each employee’s annual goals and focuses on the individual’s professional and personal goals they are seeking to accomplish. This empowers employees to take ownership of their development and progress at their own pace.

  • Free online course access: We understand people learn at their own pace. That is why we have given employees free access to one of the most robust online learning platforms. Here you can take courses to upskill yourself in public speaking, business acumen, leadership and many more hard and soft skills.

7. Flexible work options

We believe work can be done productively and effectively in various models. That’s why we offer a hybrid work model for administrative functions at our Mexico City office. This allows our employees to work from home and from the office in accordance with personal and business needs. Learn more about our four flexible work models here.
