Looking for an internship at Stryker? Meet our U.S. early talent recruiters

Updated: Apr 12

Whether you’re looking for an internship in engineering, sales, or human resources, our early talent recruiters are a wealth of knowledge to help you find a role that aligns with your professional goals. As we gear up for fall recruitment, we wanted to give you the opportunity to meet the team.

Meet our team:

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Columbus, OH

  • Alma mater: The Ohio State University

  • Recruiting focus area: I oversee recruitment for sales interns nationwide.

  • Candidate tip: The best thing a candidate can do is research the company prior to the interview. The more you've educated yourself on your prospective employer, the more engaging the interview is. Come with questions!

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: My favorite thing about our internship program, especially for sales interns, is the hands-on experience they get. Having an internship in Med Device Sales is a great way to discover if this is your true passion. I also love that our interns get to have exposure to working in the Operating Room, which is a large part of many of our full-time sales jobs.

  • Reason for recruiting interns: I love working with early talent and helping them decide on a career path that they love.

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: I sit on two teams at Stryker! I am part of our larger sales recruiting team but also work very closely with Stryker's early talent team.

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Raleigh, NC

  • Alma mater: North Carolina A&T State University

  • Recruiting focus area: My recruitment efforts are focused on Florida A&M University, Howard University and Georgia Tech.

  • Candidate tip: Come to the career fair with your research already done! Greet your recruiter with why you’re interested in Stryker, and how the company aligns with you!

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: I’m brand new to Stryker, and still learning about the internship program – but I am excited and love it so far!

  • Reason for recruiting interns: I love working with early talent because I can easily see where I’m making an impact. I don’t take for granted how this work allows me to be part of the ‘solution’.

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: I applied to be a Stryker intern in 2019!

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Los Gatos, CA

  • Alma mater: University of Colorado, Boulder

  • Recruiting focus area: I oversee our recruitment for our business management and finance internships, including our Finance and Accounting Rotational (FAR) Program. I also am responsible for our campus partnerships with CalPoly, Arizona State University, Santa Clara University and the University of Washington.

  • Candidate tip: Come to interviews and events with a passion for Stryker, the MedTech industry, the roles you’re interested in, and your career path in general. We can usually feel someone’s true passion during that first interaction, and it goes a long way to show how excited you are about Stryker and our programs.

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: My favorite thing about our internship program is that our interns get to work on meaningful, impactful, project-based work. They are given real-life/business projects that would be assigned to full-time employees. These projects help interns quickly see how their work impacts making healthcare better.

  • Reason for recruiting interns: I love to think that I can impact someone’s career at such an early phase. I wish I had known about Stryker when I was applying for internships. It is important to find a company with a culture, mission and values that align with your own!

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: Before applying to Stryker, I had never heard of the company. Once I started working here, I met some of my best friends.

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Grand Rapids, MI

  • Alma mater: Charleston Southern University

  • Recruiting focus area: I primarily recruit for mechanical, biomedical and manufacturing engineering internships, along with regulatory affairs and clinical/medical affairs. I also am the campus liaison for Michigan State University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Miami and Prairie View A&M University.

  • Candidate tip: Be prepared to talk about any specific experiences, such as school projects or former internships, that may be applicable to the role you’re interested in. We call these transferrable skills and they help recruiters understand what you’ve had exposure to and what you’re looking for next.

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: I love our Intern Program Champions (IPCs). They’re a phenomenal resource for interns throughout the summer and act as mentors. IPCs work at the locations (or virtually if needed) where our interns are based and have in-depth knowledge of resources, opportunities, and events happening in the area which helps our interns make connections.

  • Reason for recruiting interns: I feel a strong responsibility to help people find their purpose and passion. As a recruiter, I strive to make sure candidates have all the information they need to make an informed decision when considering and accepting a role. I love being able to see someone join us as an intern and transition to full-time, experiencing different opportunities at Stryker.

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: I have met some of my closest friends at Stryker. Including my teammate and onboarding buddy – I’ve even gotten to watch her become a first-time mom and hang out with her super adorable kiddo!

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Portage, MI

  • Alma mater: Adrian College (B.A), Concordia University – Ann Arbor (M.S.)

  • Recruiting focus area: I am responsible for recruiting at the University of Michigan and Purdue University. I typically focus on software, electrical and robotics engineering internships and rotational programs.

  • Candidate tip: Be yourself! Stryker values our people-oriented culture and relationships are important. We want to meet your authentic self and help you launch your career!

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: I love that our interns are treated like full-time employees and tasked with very impactful projects. I also love all the cool events our interns get the opportunity to participate in.

  • Reason for recruiting interns: My degree was in teaching, and I always envisioned myself working with students in some way. As a recruiter at Stryker, I still feel like an educator and take great joy in watching our interns start their careers with us.

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: I have four family members, including my wife who work at Stryker! We’re big Stryker cheerleaders in our family!

Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner, University Relations | Grand Rapids, MI

  • Alma mater: Spring Arbor University

  • Recruiting focus area: I recruit for marketing, legal and human resource functions. I also oversee recruitment at Rutgers, the University of Illinois – Chicago and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

  • Candidate tip: Make sure to ask the right questions to find out if the company you are pursuing has the culture and values that align with your own. Being intentional about the opportunities you target can help you secure a role with a company you can grow with.

  • Favorite thing about Stryker’s Internship program: I love seeing the relationships that our interns build with each other throughout the summer. We provide networking opportunities for students during the work week, but what really flourishes throughout the summer are the friendships and connections that interns build outside of work.

  • Reason for recruiting interns: I love working with students and being their (sometimes) first impression/interaction with Stryker. Being able to be a cheerleader and guide for students as they navigate their career path beyond the classroom is very rewarding.

  • Fun ‘Stryker’ fact: I am a Stryker “boomerang”! I worked as a contractor back in 2016, moved on to pursue other opportunities for a few years and then came back full-time in April 2022.
